resident-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo attended a book launch on Saturday night in Surakarta, Central Java, for a book that was written by 26 leading figures about him, entitled Jokowi, Catatan dan Persepsi (Jokowi, Notes and Perceptions).
The assorted writers include NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh, Yogyakarta Governor Hamengkubuwono X and Surakarta Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo.
Speaking at the launch, Jokowi reiterated his promise to strive for public participation after being sworn in as the country's seventh president on Oct. 20.
'It's not enough to just serve the people now. They also need to be involved and be given roles and that is what I will do,' Jokowi said.
