apanese car manufacturer Datsun says the total number of vehicles sold by the company since it launched the Datsun GO+ Panca in May and the Datsun GO Hatchback at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2014 reached 11,000 units, making Indonesia the biggest contributor to Datsun sales in the global market.

'€œWith the Datsun sales result achieved up to September, we [Datsun Indonesia] contribute the most to Datsun sales in the global market,'€ Indriani Hadiwidjaja, head of Datsun Indonesia, said as quoted by kontan.co.id on the sidelines of the GO+ Panca test drive event for journalists in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday.

In Indonesia, Datsun is the only brand that sells two types of low-cost green cars (LCGCs). '€œDatsun had a 17 percent market share in the LCGC segment in August. We rank third now. We want to achieve our target of a 20 percent market share next year,'€ said Indri.

Datsun also sells fairly well in two other countries, India and Russia, in which each country has its own character. In India, Datsun'€™s marketing has heavily relied on the Datsun GO Hatchback while the Datsun on-DO is more popular in Russia. According to Automotive India, the total sales of the Datsun Go Hatchback in the country has reached 9,750 since it was launched in March, far lower than sales in Indonesia.
