Guess what?: Ridho wants to step out of dad'€™s shadow

J

AKARTA: Ridho Rhoma says he wants to move out of the shadow of his father, Rhoma Irama, the so-called king of dangdut, with an original album.

'€œOn my past albums, I inserted some songs written by my father; this time I will write my own songs in collaboration with others,'€ Ridho said, as quoted by kapanlagi.com on Monday.

'€œI'€™m excited by the whole process,'€ he added.

The work, which would be his fifth album, would be released in early 2015.

However, Ridho acknowledged that many fans still wanted him to cover his dad'€™s greatest hits.

'€œMy father'€™s songs are precious intellectual property,'€ he said. '€œPerhaps I will release a special album for my own rendition of his songs.'€
