News Flash: Middle class lacks awareness of insurance benefits

J

AKARTA: Despite the fact that they are already savvy about various forms of financial investment, Indonesia'€™s emerging middle class still lacks understanding of the benefits of insurance products, an analyst says.

According to Citi Indonesia insurance business head Armand Furhad, as quoted by kompas.com, the country'€™s middle-class still does not view insurance as being related to other types of financial investment.

'€œ[Because of this], we are still trying to make insurance products better protectors from other types of financial investments,'€ he said recently.

Armand went on to say that insurance products could also boost people'€™s overall financial investments.

He added, '€œInvestors can also transfer all their assets to their offspring through inheritance.'€
