ndi Widjajanto, a former deputy of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's transition team who had been assisting the latter in forming his new Cabinet, will be inaugurated as Cabinet secretary next week.
"I was summoned by the President, who told me to maintain communication with State Secretary [Pratikno] until the inauguration next Monday or Tuesday," said Andi on Thursday at the presidential compound in Jakarta.
He was speaking in response to journalists' questions on whether he had been named as the new Cabinet secretary.
According to Andi, such communication would create synergy between the two posts, preventing them from overlapping each other.
The Cabinet secretary was in charge of serving the President as the head of government, while the state secretary was in charge of serving Jokowi as the head of state, Andi added. (ebf)(+++)
