tate-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Rini Soemarnosaid Friday that she would appoint Pertamina's definitive CEO in earlyDecember, replacing Karen Agustiawan, who resigned to pursue a teaching career.
'We have until the end of November. So, we will carry out a stringent selection process for both internal and external candidates,' she told reporters.
Rini said that the ministry expected to pick the best candidate to lead Pertamina, which ranked 122nd on the Fortune Global 500 list.
'It is of great importance to pick only the best to take the helm of the company as it is among the largest state enterprises we have,' she said.
The energy firm is currently led by acting CEO Muhamad Husen, who previously served as the company's upstream director.
Husen's term as the acting CEO is being extended until end of this month, from the initial period of Oct. 1 to the end of October. Pertamina booked record-high revenue of US$71.1 billion last year and a net profit of Rp 25.89 trillion ($2.1 billion).
