One grand prize of ¤30,000 will be awarded to one overall winner with two runner-up prizes of ¤10,000.
Two early-entry prizes of ¤500 will be selected from the entries received by the end of Nov. 19. The closing date for all entries is on Dec. 19.
The semifinalists will be announced on Jan. 22 next year, where the judges will then select 20 finalists to be announced a month later, on Feb. 27. Winners will be announced on March 12.
For the challenge, Arthur Guinness Projects and Ashoka Changemakers are seeking projects that are working in three categories: economic; environmental; and culture and technology.
Economic projects should be those that make livelihoods more economically resilient; environmental projects should enable communities to develop in a more sustainable way and protect local environments.
Culture and technology projects are those that combine art, design and technology to enrich a community's social fabric, vibrant community spaces, technology platforms for people's engagement and better communication.
