imbabwe Ambassador to Indonesia Alice Mageza met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla in Jakarta on Friday to discuss cooperation possibilities between the two countries.

Mageza said that Zimbabwe sought stronger cooperation with Indonesia in a number of sectors, such as agriculture, mining and human resource development.

During the meeting, the ambassador also wanted Indonesian investors to visit Zimbabwe, saying the country had a lot to offer, including diamonds, copper and nickel.

'€œWe would like to cooperate with Indonesia because we are looking for investment to further develop some sectors,'€ she said on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com, after the meeting at Kalla'€™s office. She also said that her country wanted to increase its trade with Indonesia. '€œOur trade is increasing quite well. In 2000, our export value was only US$10 million, but in 2012, this has risen to $46 million. There is huge potential to be tapped in trade between Indonesia and Zimbabwe,'€ she said.

In addition, Mageza said Zimbabwe wanted to learn how to manage its tourism sector from Indonesia, citing Bali as solid proof of how Indonesia successfully managed its tourism.

'€œIndonesia has been able to turn Bali into a conference, honeymoon and wedding spot. We want Victoria Falls to be like that in the future,'€ she noted.
