he Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note on Wednesday, rising by 0.28 percent to 5,133.04.The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed that 145 stocks strengthened while 140 stocks weakened by 4 p.m on Wednesday, kontan.co.id reported.
Shares in six out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX strengthened in the closing session with miscellaneous industry recording the highest growth with a rise of 1.59 percent. Meanwhile, the infrastructure sector recorded the biggest fall in Wednesday's final trading, declining by 0.19 percent. The volume of trade from lunchtime to 4 p.m on Wednesday involved 5.73 billion shares worth Rp 4.69 trillion (US$ 384.58 million). Stocks in the LQ45 index booking the highest increase included PT Express Transindo Utama (TAXI), PT Ciputra Development (CTRA) and PT Bank Danamon (BDMN). Meanwhile, PT XL Axiata (EXCL), PT Jasa Marga (JSMR) and PT Surya Citra Media (SCMA) were the index's biggest losers. (nfo)(+++)
