SOE directors prohibited from taking leave in holiday periods

The State-Owned Enterprises Ministry has issued a regulation prohibiting the directors of state companies handling public transportation, airport and port services from taking leave during certain holiday periods

he State-Owned Enterprises Ministry has issued a regulation prohibiting the directors of state companies handling public transportation, airport and port services from taking leave during certain holiday periods.

The regulation, which was officially issued on Dec. 9, forbids directors with those state enterprises from taking leave during the Idul Fitri, Christmas and New Year holiday periods.

"Directors with the concerned state enterprises are expected to focus and concentrate on providing quality services to the public under their responsibilities," the regulation says.

It also states that the directors may apply similar measures to their subordinates.

'€‹Signed by minister Rini Soemarno, the regulation comes into force on Dec. 9, meaning that it must be applied during this year's Christmas and New Year holiday period.

State-owned firms handling public transportation, airport and port services include flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia, railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), airport operators PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I and II and seaport operators PT Pelindo I through IV. '€‹(nvn)(+++)
