rape case involving a student at the Karya Thaiyibah Islamic senior high school in Baiya subdistrict, Tawaeli district, Palu city, has prompted the Central Sulawesi Religious Office to revoke the operational license of the school.
Office head Zulkifli Tahir told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday that his office had investigated the case at the school and had brought it to a forum with the Palu City Religious Office, before concluding that the school was unfit to be an educational institution.
Zulkifli said the case involving the rape of a female student by her seniors, and her expulsion from school, was the biggest disgrace to the education world.
However, he said, before revoking the school's operational license, his office had given the school a two-month deadline to improve its systems and management. (***)
