epok Immigration Office personnel nabbed seven foreign people who had incomplete or expired documents during a raid conducted at the Margonda Residence 1 and 2 apartments on Wednesday'€™s wee hours.

Depok Immigration Office head Dudi Iskandar said his personnel inspected dozens of foreigners who lived in two apartment units in Depok and detained seven of them.

Dudi said the seven foreigners were made up of three South Koreans and four men from Japan, Brunei, Iran and Nigeria.

'€œTheir mistakes are various. Some of them have the temporary stay permit [KITAS] with the domicile in Bandung and Bogor but they live in Depok. Others have overstayed or have stayed in Indonesia more than 60 days,'€ he said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

With respect to the Iranian, Dudi said his office was still examining the authenticity of the refugee letter from the United Nations. Meanwhile, the Nigerian man did not have any documents.

'€œWe were suspicious that he is connected with drug trafficking. We are still waiting for the result of a urine test conducted by officials from the National Narcotics Agency'€™s [BNN] Depok branch, which joined us in the raid,'€ he said.

The Immigration Office'€™s Foreigner Enforcement and Surveillance Department head, Arief Hidayat, said 136 foreigners were recorded living in the apartments. '€œAll of them are students,'€ he said.

The raid was assisted by Depok BNN, Depok police, Depok Prosecutor'€™s Office and the Depok Population and Civil Registration Agency. (***)
