rade Minister Rahmat Gobel said on Friday that he would go all out to promote the consumption of jamu (Indonesian herbal and traditional medicine) domestically and abroad.

As part of the campaign, Gobel said that he would assign Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, the daughter of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) leader Megawati Soekarnoputri, the role of ambassador for the product.

'€œMbak Puan will be the icon for jamu products in our campaign," said Rahmat on the sidelines of a jamu campaign in Jakarta.

Puan, 41, is a mother of two and is known for her active role in social activities, including the promotion of Indonesian fashion and cuisine among socialites. (ren/nvn) (*****)
