entral Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Idham Azis claimed two terror suspects, Farid Makruf and Ahmad Wahyono, arrested in Poso recently, were old players. Both are strongly believed to be members of the Santoso group, aggressively spreading terror in Poso.
'I caught them a few years ago. It turns out now that they are active again,' Idham told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
He said that Densus 88, the National Police's counterterrorism unit, had been observing the two men for a long time and had sufficient evidence before capturing them.
'So, it's not true we have mistakenly arrested them,' said Idham.
Earlier, the National Commission on Human Rights criticized the arbitrary arrests of terror suspects by Densus 88 in Poso regency.
