Asian Hot Shots

Adriyanto Dewo greatly embraces any development in gadgets that makes his workeasier.

The award-winning filmmaker said that he mostly used his gadgets for work, and only dedicated a little amount of his time to use them for fun.

'€œI love reading news about movies and everything from online media. My wife often complains about my attachment to gadgets during family time,'€ Adri said. '€œI know I shouldn'€™t do that, but can'€™t help it.'€

The 31-year-old graduated from one of the only formal academic film-directing programs in the nation, at the Jakarta Institute of Arts (IKJ) in Cikini, Central Jakarta.

He helmed the ethnic-tolerance-through-food-parable Tabula Rasa, for which he garnered the Citra, the local equivalent of an Academy Award, for Best Director at the 2014 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI).

In 2011, Adri received the Best Director award at the sixth Indonesian Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia, for his short film Song of the Silent Heroes., while in 2012, he directed short films for two omnibuses: Ghost Market, a segment in the horror anthology Hi5teria, and Waiting for Colors in Sanubari Jakarta (Heartbeat of Jakarta).

Apple products

I am working in audio visual and there are a lot of applications and software that are usuable only with Apple products.

I always have Macbook Pro in my bag because wherever I feel like working '€” I don'€™t have to work in the office '€” everything has been there.

In addition, I also like to write stories for my film projects. When an idea pops in my head, I will instantly write it down on my Macbook.

Besides the Macbook, I also have an iPhone 5.

I bought the iPhone because I already have a Macbook, so they can easily synchronize.

Apart from supporting my works, I also use the iPhone to communicate and I always update the applications installed on it.

I have social media accounts but rarely use them '€” except for Facebook, because it offers me more information about film festivals and other events about film.

Apps

I have several applications about films on my iPhone. I have iFilmFest [iFilmfest '€” Top 300 Film Festivals] and I occasionally use Artemis application during filming to look for certain shot types and the kind of lenses that I can use for shooting.
