nvestment realization in South Sulawesi throughout 2014 was Rp 7.9 trillion (US$632 million), much higher than the Rp 6.1 trillion target for the year.
'It consists of Rp 3 trillion in FDI [foreign direct investment] and Rp 4.9 trillion in domestic investment,' the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) South Sulawesi office's head of monitoring, Indiani Ismu, said in Makassar on Tuesday as quoted by Antara news agency.
Indiani said that annual investment realization in the province recorded positive growth over the past few years.
According to BKPM data, the province recorded $582.5 million in FDI and a Rp 2.3 trillion in domestic direct investment (DDI) in 2012, while in 2013 it recorded $462.7 million in FDI and Rp 921 billion in DDI.
'Investment is dominated by the trade, mining and food and beverage sectors,' she explained. (nfo)(+++)
