Woori Korindo Securities Indonesia head of research Reza Priyambada said that the small possibility that Greece would exit the Eurozone had made global market players less anxious about the future of economy.
'This condition has helped the rupiah to strengthen against the US dollar in the financial market,' Reza said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that previously market players had been worried that the electoral victory of the left-wing Syriza Party would affect Greek financial policy.
'We recommend that market players stay alert for any possible changes in Greek economic policy,' he said.
Separately, Monex Investindo Futures head of research Ariston Tjendra said that most currencies worldwide were tending to strengthen after Alexis Tsipras, the Syriza leader who has just been sworn in as prime minister, said that he would negotiate bailout programs for his troubled country. (nfo)
