he city administration has postponed the disbursement of grants earmarked for four satellite cities pending submission of 2014 spending reports.
Finance Management Agency head Heru Budi Hartono said that the four municipal administrations ' Bogor, Bekasi, South Tangerang and Tangerang ' had yet to submit accountability reports regarding 2014 grant spending.
'This is our rule; without the report of last year's spending, we won't disburse this year's funding,' he said on Sunday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
The city administration has allocated a significant portion the city budget for grants to partner-city administrations this year; Rp 100 billion (US$7 million) for the Bogor regency, Rp 200 billion for Bekasi, Rp 164 billion for South Tangerang and Rp 167 billion for Tangerang regency.
The grants have been allocated to finance infrastructure programs that would positively impact Jakarta, such as the construction of access roads and the extension of Transjakarta bus lanes. (***)
