Newborn survives after being abandoned

A

newborn boy was found in shrubbery Friday on Jl. Palem Manis Raya in Gandasari, Jatiuwung district, Tangerang municipality. As of Saturday, the boy was still undergoing treatment at Dinda Cikoneng Hospital.

Jatiuwung Police chief Comr. Rully Indra Wijayanto said the newborn was covered in blood and had bruises on his legs when he was found by a resident identified as Warsiah. Warsiah said a moving plastic bag caught her eye, and when she opened it she found the infant boy.

The baby weighed 1.35 kilograms and measured 40 centimeters.

'€œThe baby was found on Friday evening. His condition is improving. We have questioned three witnesses and are still investigating the case to find the baby'€™s mother,'€ Ruly said on Saturday. (***)
