The Jakarta Police arrested 567 people in raids across the city on Saturday and Sunday, 80 of whom had been detained, a police spokesperson said on Monday.

What a thinly veiled attempt to show how good and positive the police force is. Do these PR moves actually work?
Those numbers don't indicate anything but the annual operations as an appetizer before renegotiations with clubs in North Jakarta for their annual fees.

How about just doing your job on a daily basis by upholding the law and protecting the citizens of Indonesia? These 'operations' are only a ploy to seek media attention to make it look as if the police are actually doing their jobs. If they really were, there would be no need for these media-seeking operations.
The folks who need 'character development' are the political elites and the police! Hard to 'develop character' when it's done by an organization that has no character.
