March 3, Online

Hundreds of employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) staged a walkout for a quarter of an hour in protest at the commission'€™s decision to hand over the case on former National Police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan to the Attorney General'€™s Office (AGO).

Faisal, coordinator for the Forum of KPK employees said they opposed the KPK leadership'€™s move to hand over the Budi case to the AGO and called on KPK leaders to request the Supreme Court to reopen the case.

He said in a free-speech forum that corruption eradication had to be conducted in the worst conditions and therefore the KPK had to be in the front rank in corruption eradication. '€œIf there are 10 corruption eradicators, we must be part of them but if there is only one corruption fighter, then it is only us,'€ he said.

Your comments:

'€œI am glad that they had the courage to stage the protest because they were recruited and educated in the KPK'€™s first term of leadership. I led the first term,'€ Taufiequrachman Ruki said.

Those protesters had nothing to do with '€œyour'€ leadership! They protested against you and your '€œselected'€ leaders for your blatant disregard of corruption.

Those protesters were properly trained by the leadership prior to your '€œappointment'€ and now know what it means to really fight corruption.

RIP KPK. It was destroyed by the weak presidency of Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo, who is really vice president to Megawati Soekarnoputri. Indonesia is ruled by criminals: a Southeast Asian Nigeria.

Let'€™s all give a big round of applause to these first-rate folks at the KPK!

It'€™s only a gesture of course but it'€™s encouraging to know that their spirit hasn'€™t been crushed by their enemy'€™s deviousness.

By the way, if Ruki is one of the protesters why doesn'€™t he go down to police HQ and ask for the dossier back?

Terry McAsee

Ruki: '€œI am part of the protesters and therefore I am glad to see and listen to their demands.'€ If you listened to your staff, if you were there to fulfill the mandated duties of the KPK, you would never have handed over the case to the AGO.

You have just been installed as another puppet in this game.

Devi Neasia

Mr. President, why does it take you so long to see, stop or even comment on this ridiculous and dubious event taking place?

Didn'€™t you say that the KPK and other law enforcement institutions should focus on getting back to business and expedite their programs to combat corruption?

By the way, the staff should petition Ruki to be removed because he was the one who submitted Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan'€™s dossier to the AGO. Also, he said, immediately after his inauguration, that he would be less aggressive with his investigations.

How ironic. Do we need such a leader who is just a '€œshowmaster'€?

Luwanto

Jokowi, as the head of state, started the mess (and the other messes, right?). Nothing can fix it. It will never be like before. Other problems are coming.

It'€™s not over yet. Indonesia is facing uncertainty, economic difficulties and social upheaval. I don'€™t blame Ruki.

I'€™m pretty sure he got orders from Jokowi and he is not happy. He looked more happy today during the KPK staff demo than when he visited Jokowi the last few times.

He knows and we all know that only a revolution can change things.

Ruki: '€œI am glad that they had the courage to stage the protest because they were recruited and educated in the KPK'€™s first term of leadership. I led the first term.'€

But how come they protested against your decision to hand over the Budi case to the AGO?

And they stood behind Abraham Samad, the one you castigated the other day?

You are just a stooge, accept that, be honest, sorry, you have been instructed to sell out the KPK.
