T

he Jakarta Police'€™s bomb disposal unit Gegana removed a black briefcase that was suspected to contain explosives from the C2 road at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

Soekarno-Hatta Police head Sr. Comr. CH Pattopoi said an examination by the bomb unit revealed that the briefcase contained counterfeit money and no explosive material.

'€œWe thought it was a bomb, but it turned out that the bag contained 20 bundles of counterfeit money,'€ Pattopoi said Monday as quoted by tempo.co.

He said the briefcase was initially found by an airport staff member who then immediately called the police.

The case had been handed over to the Jakarta Police.
