Let all of them join IS, but don't let them return to Indonesia.
We have a lot more important things to overcome here in this country and don't bow to foreign interests.

We thank Densus 88 for being alert to the silent movement of the five alleged extremists linked to 16 Indonesians arrested by Turkish authorities.
This is a result of our previous governments that were reluctant or were scared of not getting the support of the Muslim majority.

Does Indonesia even have a policy to prohibit membership/support/funding, etc. of the IS? The IS in Indonesia is much bigger than people realize, and if no or little action is taken to apprehend/stop the spread of IS, it will blossom out of proportion in no time.
Radicalism isn't just a problem in Indonesia, but worldwide. The threat of domestic religious radicalism and terrorism remains real in Indonesia.
Without strong leadership, this internal threat will have a profound impact on Indonesia's ability to be a strategic regional partner to other countries.
Indonesia must first be stable domestically to fulfill its partnership role regionally and internationally.
Consolidating democratic principles and institutions, eradicating government corruption and electing strong leadership through free and fair elections are the building blocks Indonesia must establish to defeat religious extremism, ensure domestic stability and effectively participate in a partnership critical to national security interests.
The Indonesian leadership must uncompromisingly ensure the establishment of a political environment that reduces support for extremists and undermines the attraction of the radical ideology they espouse.
Winning people's hearts and minds, good governance and compassionate but firm leadership remain the yardstick by which victory will be measured for Indonesian democracy over the rise of any religious extremism.

It is not legal for a country to leave a citizen stateless. If they are dual citizenship holders then Indonesia can cancel their citizenship.
Indonesia selectively adheres to its obligations, so who knows what'll happen.
