Comments on other issues: Golkar sees worsening tensions

Tensions between two opposing factions in the Golkar Party have escalated as Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly validated the leadership of Agung Laksono on Monday.

Your comments:

If the conflict between the two opposing factions can'€™t be resolved, it is a sign of trouble in the party, no matter who the leader is.

The only solution is for Golkar'€™s new leadership to reconcile as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Agung and Bakrie should give up the leadership to the younger leaders of the party. Don'€™t let Golkar die because of its leaders who are egotistic and hunger for power and money.

Filing a lawsuit against Yasonna'€™s decree with the Jakarta State Administrative Court is a waste of money, energy and time.

Where would you get the money to finance the suit? I suggest that there is no use waiting for the court ruling. You should uphold the law and respect Yasonna'€™s decree.

Politics is moving ever close to the animal kingdom and jungle life, outdo and conquer.

Politicians are thirsty for their opponents'€™ blood.

Absent from our political arena are political parties and individuals with the will to solve and outsmart the multiple crises our nation faces. We are acting like juveniles.

Aburizal said, '€This country upholds the law [...] it is true that [...] the other camp leads legally but in fact, the power is still with us. We will not allow the party'€™s faction to be taken over. We will fight.'€

So, on the one hand he says that this country upholds the law '€” but then instantly he refuses to accept the legal leadership of the other camp '€” '€œbecause the power is still with us'€ and he will not allow this power to be taken, which may lead to violence.

Is that upholding the law? Someone please enlighten me here.
