Your comments:
I'm a fan of Jokowi but I totally agree with the article. It appears that in a complex political situation, such as Budi's selection, Jokowi was unable to define and pursue a firm and aggressive course of action in favor of or on the side of national interests despite his deep and strong conviction and belief for a clean government. He appears to be unwilling to take a strong political stand against his political principals and yet he is the president of the people.
Or maybe he was gambling, allowing and risking Budi to go forward to let him get butchered by the KPK, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) and the indignant public, to prove to Budi's sponsors that their candidate was a mistake.
Jokowi's gamble failed, it created a protracted national political maelstrom instead and raised questions about his political competence at the national level.
I'm still hopeful that he will steady the ship and move forward with nation building.

Up until now, no one has bothered to explain to the public why Gen. Sutarman, who had only eight months to go before his official retirement, was removed or why besides Budi Gunawan, Budi Waseso was brought into an active management role in the National Police? Jokowi needs to explain his move, especially to those who voted for him thinking that he would support corruption eradication efforts.
