he police said an investigation had revealed that a violent motorcycle-theft gang in Bogor likely used a homemade firearm to kill victim Ahmad Markus, 24, in Bogor, West Java on Tuesday evening.
Bogor Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Auliya Djabar said Wednesday that investigators found no weapon projectiles at the scene despite the results of a forensic examination of the victim's body showing that a bullet hit his neck and went through his right cheek.
'The investigation is ongoing but [due to the lack of a projectile] we suppose that the robbers used self-assembled firearms,' said Auliya during the crime scene inspection as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Ahmad Markus was shot dead on Jl. Perikanan Darat, Tanah Sareal, Bogor, when he was chasing four thieves who tried to steal his friend's motorcycle. The thieves reportedly headed to Cilendek in West Bogor on three motorcycles after the shooting.
