Jokowi entered the congress room together with PDI-P chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, NasDem chairman Surya Paloh and Megawati's daughter, Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani.
Sitting next to one another, Jokowi and Megawait were seen chatting during a music performance, despite reports of tension between the two over Jokowi's controversial nomination of National Police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan.
The opening ceremony was attended by several government officials, including PDI-P officials Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo and Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly. (hhr)
