Some 700 CEOs from around the globe and six world leaders will gather in Jakarta during the upcoming World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA), an official said on Friday.
'Indonesia should make it an opportunity to attract foreign investment,' said the Trade Ministry's director general for international trade cooperation, Bachrul Chairi, referring to the 24th WEF-EA, set for April 19-21.

The banks have new regulations now about transactions less than US$10,000. Also anyone in jeopardy of being sued by disgruntled contactors/customers/employees, will be subjected to a justice system that seriously considers magic stones and false testimonies and the raw ore export bans, etc. Is there anything I missed here that might affect FDI? I have friends left and right of me leaving this country, or busy working on their exit strategy. Good luck Indonesia.
The alcohol related items I put in here might make it seem like I'm desperate for a beer all the time, but what I really emphasize is that it will have a big affect on the tourism industry. What effect will it have on Bali (say Kuta or Seminyak)?
Cukup
Already too many expats have made their decisions. They are leaving, already up to 30 percent according to some sources. I can say for myself, and after more than forty years involvement, I am a very small fish but I have withdrawn my investments. I can say, verified by various sources, that a number of existing FDI are already commencing their exit strategies.
Indonesia has made it very clear that it has no intentions of operating a functional legal system that comes to a decision based on the rule of law and with a presumption of innocence until proven guilty beyond doubt via eye witnesses and/or scientific evidence. It has also made it very clear that foreigners are no longer welcome.
