Actor and martial artist Yayan Ruhian, renowned for his memorable performance as the villainous Mad Dog in the action flick The Raid, has been given a lead role in a Japanese movie entitled Yakuza Apocalypse.

Yayan, who is still teaching the traditional Indonesian pencak silat martial art despite his rise in the entertainment industry, will be the movie'€™s only Indonesian actor, kapanlagi.com reported.

The movie is a fantasy story set among the Yakuza, the Japanese underworld criminal organization. It tells the story of a low-ranking Yakuza member, Akira Kageyama (Hayato Ichibara), who gets bitten by his boss, who turns out to be a vampire.

In the movie, Yayan will play the role of Kyoken, a villain and a member of an international assassin group.
