A coal-fired power plant in Bone Bolango has been destroyed by fire, causing rotating blackouts in the backwater province of Gorontalo.

The Molotabu plant, with a capacity of 2 x 15 megawatts, was no longer operational, according to Putu Eka Astawa, the manager of state-run power company PT PLN'€™s Gorontalo division.

'€œWe apologize to the public for the incident. The rotating blackouts will occur for seven hours every day," he said. (ren)(++++)
