The chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the country's largest Muslim organization, Said Aqil Siradj, has said that Indonesia was founded on values of peace and tolerance and not exclusively on Islamic teachings.
Your comments:
NU and Muhammadiyah are 'moderate' and 'mainstream' about as much as I am the Queen of England.
They play the political game and then push for blasphemy laws and female circumcision.
The head of Muhammadiyah even spoke at rallies for Hizbut Tahrir. For people who oppose the Islamic State (IS) movement, they sure do a great job of undermining Indonesian democracy by giving support to an organization that wants to get rid of Indonesian democracy and establish a global caliphate.
