The suspects were arrested along with Rp 19.4 million (US$1,492) in evidence at a rented house in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday.
'The suspects, NA, NH, SAR, EH, ZUM and AZH, were arrested with nine printers, two laptops, a laminating machine and a sum of money in Rp 100,000 notes as evidence,' South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Wahyu Hadiningrat said on Wednesday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
He added that the suspects had not circulated the money because they had only been in Mampang Prapatan for two days so far.
'They had just rented the place for two days and we already caught them,' he said.
One of the suspects said their boss ordered them to make Rp 100 million in a week with a target of Rp 2 billion during the fasting month.
'The public has to be careful with fake money during the fasting month and Idul Fitri festivity,' Wahyu said.
