hirty tourism operators and observers will hold a meeting to formulate a joint step to develop community-based alternative tourism in Yogyakarta.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at Breksi Park at the Ijo Temple geo-heritage site on May 30 and 31.
'It is aimed at reaching an agreement and synchronizing development of traditional tourism,' said a conceptor on Wednesday.
Among the communities attending the meeting are the Makarti Roso bullock cart, vintage bicycle, photography, cave expedition, mountaineering, rock climbing, tour guide and other communities.
The meeting, according to Soegarman, is important because alternative tourism in Yogyakarta varies, such as rural tradition tours, natural village tours and special tours.
'The potential is tremendous. Many of the tourist attractions have been eyed, but they have not been fully tapped due to the lack of combined efforts,' said Soegarman.
