outhwest Sumba regency on Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), was jolted by a 4.2-magnitude quake centered around 130 kilometers southwest of the regency and at a depth of 10 km, at 11:04 a.m. local time on Thursday.
'The quake has no potential of triggering a tsunami due to its minor scale. However, we advise residents to remain alert in the event of aftershocks,' Kupang station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) head Sudaryono told reporters in Kupang on Thursday.
Sudaryono said the quake did not trigger landslides and the tsunami and only caused slight damage to homes.
