he House of Representatives is holding a joint meeting with the National Police and Attorney General's Office (AGO) on Thursday to discuss the latest audit findings on the General Elections Commission (KPU).
Attorney General HM Prasetyo, National Police security chief Comr. Gen Putut Eko Bayuseno and Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo are attending the meeting, following a request made by House commissions to include public representatives in the discussion.
'The meeting will mostly discuss the Supreme Audit Agency's (BPK) audit findings on the KPU, particularly the alleged spending irregularities during the KPU's operations between 2013 and 2014 that resulted in up to Rp 334 billion in losses. This follow up is a fairly normal procedure,' House deputy speaker Taufik Kurniawan said before the meeting.
Taufik added that aside from the House, the Attorney General's office and the police had vowed to follow up on the audit's findings since they had reduced the public trust in the KPU (ika)(+++)
