The North Sumatra Police have found 37 bodies at the site where an Air Force plane crashed into a residential area in Medan, North Sumatra, at midday on Tuesday .
North Sumatra Police chief Ins. Gen. Eko Hadi Sutedjo told tribunnews.com that the bodies had been taken to the nearby Adam Malik Hospital for identification.
He added that the plane had been carrying 50 passengers, meaning the number of victims was expected to rise further.
Of the 50 passengers, 12 were soldiers, military spokesman Maj. Gen. Fuad Basya told reporters.
According to the Air Force website, the plane was built in the US in 1964. (ika)(+++)
