Jakarta city-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will sanction operators that fail to maintain the recently bought fleet of buses
akarta city-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will sanction operators that fail to maintain the recently bought fleet of buses.
Transjakarta president director ANS Kosasih said on Wednesday that operators would be sanctioned if buses from the new fleet broke down more than two times a year.
Kosasih said the buses would operate under new contracts with the company setting standard operational procedures, including sanctions for poorly maintained buses.
He added that the sanctions ranged from fines to prohibition of operation. 'If a bus breaks down two or three times a year, it means that the bus is bad quality as well as poorly maintained,' he said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Kosasih said the policy would not be applied to old buses that were independently procured by the operators.(+++)
