Comments on other issues: Cabinet reshuffle needed, says Kalla

Jusuf Kalla - JP/Wendra Ajistyatama

June 30, Online

Vice President Jusuf Kalla said it was necessary for President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo to reshuffle his Cabinet in an endeavor to improve the government'€™s performance.

He declined, however, to declare when the reshuffle would be conducted, whether before or after the Idul Fitri holiday.

Your comments:

Given the landslide of the economy, Jokowi has to move fast! '€œHis'€ ministers have proven absolutely useless, along with economically illiterate polices.

It was confirmed to me for the fourth time in two days that revenues across industry as a whole are down 30-40 percent. That'€™s fast degeneration. Closing down companies for the sin of hiring foreign workers (even legally in some cases) has not helped. Unemployment is rocketing.

Jokowi does not have time for '€œhis'€ ministers to get it.

It is ridiculous to reshuffle the Cabinet before even the first year; they barely had a chance get on top of things and even find out who is doing what.

Kantisini

Jokowi can shuffle the deck as much as he likes, but the '€œstatus quo'€ will remain, as there are not enough qualified members to change anything!

Tommo

As long as the system stays the same, there will be no big difference.

Greg Daru

The problem isn'€™t really the economic ministers. Indonesia is impacted by world economic conditions and abandoning fuel subsidies. The problem lies with the justice minister, transportation minister and public works minister.
