he Jakarta Mosque Teenagers Association and the Ar-Rahman Quranic Learning Center are slated to launch the 'Jakarta Recites' program on Friday at the Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta.
City secretary Saefullah is scheduled to officiate the launch.
Association head Zuhdi Mamduhi called on Jakarta's teenagers turn to the Koran for guidance on how to lead their lives and achieve success in life and in the afterlife.
'We will sign agreements with five municipalities to introduce the program,' he said during a meeting at the Istiqlal Mosque on Thursday.
Zuhdi also encouraged Jakarta teenagers and residents to support the program.
The program launch will commence with give away of 1,436 Korans to mark the year 1436 in the Islamic calendar, which is predicted to begin on Idul Fitri on July 17.
