ank Indonesia governor Agus Martowardojo has projected Indonesia's domestic economy will grow by 4.7 percent in the second quarter of 2015, similar to the growth in the previous quarter.
'We foresee that the [second quarter] economic growth will be not too good, similar to the growth in the first quarter [4.71 percent],' said Agus as quoted by Antara on Thursday. He was speaking in an event in Jakarta on Wednesday evening.
Although the country's economic growth would be relatively stagnant in the second quarter, Agus said he was still optimistic that Indonesia's economy would improve in the remaining six months.
'We must be able to catch up with what we have fallen behind. In the second half, our priorities will be on government spending, investment and domestic consumption,' said Agus. (ebf)(+++++)
