he South Jakarta Transportation Agency is allowing cars and motorcycles to pass through a section of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) toll road for free starting from Monday until December to ease heavy traffic on Jl. TB Simatupang in South Jakarta.
The new traffic policy comes into effect daily from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. for vehicles heading to Ragunan, also in South Jakarta.
'Vehicles can enter JORR through the Fatmawati toll gate or before the Cilandak Town Square [Citos] shopping mall and exit the toll road after 600 meters, or exactly in front of the Lamborghini car showroom,' South Jakarta Transportation Agency head Priyanto said as quoted by kompas.com.
He said the traffic change was implemented because of ongoing road construction in front of Citos that had caused 2-kilometer-long lines during the rush hours.
According to him, the traffic diversion will be applied until December or until the National Highway Construction Agency (BBPJN) finishes widening the road, which is set to be enlarged by 1.5m by 600m.
