Singer Marcell Siahaan does not believe that love songs should always be mellow and sad.
For Marcell, love is something positive that can bring optimism despite the fact that it sometimes requires sacrifice. This is an idea he brings to his sixth solo album titled Jadi Milikku (Be Mine).
'Of course, in the album I have bleeding love songs such as the first single titled Cinta Mati [True Love] but there are also songs about sacrifice, commitment and struggles,' Marcell said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
In Marcell's latest album, he also features as the drummer in some of his songs. In addition, he has included a traditional Batak love song entitled Nasonang Do Hita Nadua, his favorite song since childhood.
'This Batak song is about true love between two souls,' he said.
