Greater Jakarta: More heads to roll in latest demotion wave

G

overnor Basuki '€œAhok'€ Tjahaja Purnama is set to demote some civil servants and promote others in their place on Friday.

Ahok said that among those who would be demoted was City Council secretary Sotar Harahap, who he said had been disappointing, citing Sotar'€™s failure to communicate and coordinate. Ahok said that he had failed to hand over the Supreme Audit Agency'€™s (BPK) audit of the city'€™s 2014 financial report after a recent plenary session between the city administration and the City Council.

Separately, Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) head Agus Suradika said that aside from Sotar, three other echelon II and dozens of echelon III officials would be demoted.

Agus, however, refused to provide details about the officials and said that, as of Thursday afternoon, discussions were still ongoing to determine who would get promoted to fill the vacant positions.
