he body of Kanjeng Raden Ayu Nindyokirono, the fifth wife of the late sultan Hamengkubuwono IX of the Yogyakarta palace, was buried on Thursday at the royal cemetery in Imohiri, Bantul regency.

Nindyokirono, who lived in Jakarta, died on Wednesday night at the age of 85. Her body was flown to Yogyakarta and arrived at 10 a.m. local time the following day.

Her body was laid out in the palace'€™s Manis Hall, where her funeral, led by Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, was held. She was buried next to sultan Hamengkubuwono IX.

Sultan Hamengkubuwono X'€™s younger brother, Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Haryo Hadiwinoto, said that Nindyokirono frequently accompanied his father when he was the vice president and on other occasions.

Nindyokirono, who was born Norma Musa on Bangka Island, Sumatra, married sultan Hamengkubuwono IX in 1976.
