AKARTA: Newcomer Sheryl Sheinafia is not only known for her vocals, but also for her fondness of playing an acoustic guitar during her live performances.
She attributed her guitar playing ability to a security guard who once worked in her neighborhood.
'I first learned it from my security guard, Mas Witnyo, but he is now working as taxi driver,' Sheryl told tribunnews.com on Thursday.
'Mas Witnyo had just bought a new guitar. I was walking through the neighborhood. I approached him and said, 'Mas, please teach me to play guitar'.'
The 20-year-old singer said she was first attracted to learn to strum guitar after playing the Guitar Girl video game.
She regretted Mas Witnyo's decision to become a taxi driver at the time when she was still trying to master the instrument. 'At the time, we were both still learning.'
