hen the top 22 players in the TATA Motors JCA League lock horns, you can expect an outstanding game of cricket. In a new initiative, the Jakarta Cricket Association (JCA) President'€™s XI took on a combined team from the Division 1 finalists of last season.

After choosing to bat first, Corbon Loughnan (44 runs) and Harish Tiwari (43) got the President'€™s XI off to a quick start. The introduction of spin in the form of Gaurang '€” 3/35 '€” and Aman Singh '€” 2/37 '€” pulled things back. Faisal'€™s 33 then helped the President'€™s XI reach 212/9 in 25 overs.

Despite Ben Burgess'€™ early strikes (2/25), Viraj Bhammar (93 not out), Pallav Malhotra (37) and Bob Plath (32 not out) fought back for the Finalists XI, before a few tight overs of spin from Scott Masson and Corbon ensured they restricted the opponent to 211 runs, leading the President'€™s XI to a victory by just 1 run and with it, the first JCA President'€™s Cup.

In the league'€™s other games on Sunday, Ramdoni'€™s hundred powered Senayan CC to a huge win over GMIS in a game where the 400 run mark was breached for the first time to set the highest-ever score in JCA history.

Flaying a hapless GMIS bowling, Ramdoni became the second Indonesian player to hit a century and his unbeaten 116 off just 59 balls along with Amar Kapadia'€™s 80 from 26 balls, including the fastest half century in JCA history, and Parag'€™s 84 helped Senayan CC put up a mammoth 403 for 4 in 35 overs. In reply, Naresh offered the sole resistance with 66 runs. Raj Kapadia took 5/39, while his brother Amar chipped in with the ball as well (3/33) to ensure GMIS CC was bowled out for 170 in 21 overs, losing by 233 runs.

At Cibubur, Jaguars defeated Chairos Tigers by 27 runs. Batting first, Jaguars scored 217, including 73 from Ansar Subramanian and 37 from Anwar. Fakri (4/30) and Syahrul (4/28) shared the wickets. In response, Chairos Tigers were all out for 197. Sachin scored 63, while Jagdeep and Ridho took 3 wickets each.

At Purwakarta, hosts Indorama defeated Challengers CC by 4 wickets. Chasing 154 runs, Indorama reached the target, losing only 6 wickets. Govind Sodani (34) and Nitin Joshi (31) did well with the bat, while Santosh took 3/13. Earlier, Challengers, batting first reached 153/9 with Vimal scoring 33 runs. Arjun Chauhan (3/22) and Nitin (2/30) took the lion'€™s share of the wickets.
