Singer Gita Gutawa has fallen for the work of a music producer, pushing her singing career down her priority list.
Gita, 22, said producing an album, especially not her own, had its own challenges.
'I learn a lot,' said Gita, who produced two Di Atas Rata-rata (DAAR, Above Average) albums and is currently working on her own album.
'You could say I'm addicted to the job because I really liked working on the Di Atas Rata-rata project. My father and I were inspired by the artists,' she said as reported by tribunnews.com on Wednesday.
Gita and renowned music composer Erwin Gutawa scouted musically talented children and produced musical albums for them.
The first batch of the artists, called DAAR Generation 1, consisted of 13 children while Generation 2 consisted of seven children.
The second album was recently released and is now available at Gramedia bookstores.
'I consulted my father a lot about what kind of music and song was suitable for each artist. We composed nine of 10 songs in this album,' said Gita.
The artists involved in the second album are jazz singer Kafin, power pop artist Lyodra, sweet pop singers Oliv and Ovi, urban pop singer Rafi, classical singer Shaquilla and Nada who specializes in Melayu songs.
