Rising comic maker Faza Ibnu Ubaidillah, better known by his pen name Faza Meonk, says that technology has opened many doors for him.

'€œThrough technology I can get a lot of opportunities; doing business is also easier now because of it,'€ Faza said.

The 24-year-old said technology had become an inseparable part of his life, because his works all revolved around it.

'€œI wouldn'€™t be who I am today if it wasn'€™t for technology. Thanks to it, my creations are widely known,'€ he said.

'€œAnd to ensure that my workflow is on the right track, I regularly upgrade my gadgets.'€

Faza uses social media to popularize the character he created, Si Juki. He frequently pens new episodes about it and uploads them for free on social media.

Si Juki has appeared in nine books and starred in advertisements of almost 30 local and global brands.

Faza is also the founder of Pionicon, an intellectual property (IP) management firm that currently manages seven comic characters.

Aside from managing his business and creating comics, Faza is a lecturer at the animation faculty of
his alma mater, Bina Nusantara University.

'€œI teach scriptwriting and IP development, how content can become IP, and in class I also talk about the power of social media,'€ he said.

Wacom Companion 2

This pen tablet is vital for my job. Before, comic makers needed a lot of tools to draw, such as paper, pencils and crayons. We can replace all of those with this pen tablet. Wacom is the most popular pen tablet to make animations, and Companion 2 is my favorite, because the features are amazing. Its pressure sensitivity feature allows you to draw just like on paper. When you press the pen lightly, the result will also be light, and when you press it harder, the results will be bolder. I'€™m more comfortable to draw on Wacom than on paper. I have two pen tablets, but one doesn'€™t have the pressure sensitivity feature, it'€™s just for backup purposes.

Applications

I have a lot of applications on my iPhone 6, because I use the phone for communication and work. Apart from several social media applications, I installed Google Drive and Google Docs to manage files. I also use Trello and Slack to keep track of everything with my team, and I use the Moleskine application to manage my schedule.
