The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday summoned House of Representatives secretary-general Winantuningtyastiti Swasanani for questioning as a witness in a bribery case allegedly involving former NasDem Party secretary-general Patrice Rio Capella.
Winantuningtyastiti said KPK investigators questioned her about Patrice's activities at the House. 'He attended commission meetings,' she told journalists at the KPK on Tuesday, citing one of the NasDem lawmaker's activities.
She added that the KPK investigators questioned her for around five hours. She refused to answer questions on whether Patrice still received his salary as a lawmaker. She also declined to comment about the lawmaker's bribery case.
The antigraft body on Oct.15 named Patrice as a suspect for reportedly receiving unlawful gifts related to a bribery case allegedly involving non-active North Sumatra governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho and his second wife Evy Susanti. The KPK named the couple suspects in late July for their alleged roles as financial bankers in a bribery case involving Medan State Administrative Court (PTUN) judges. (ebf)
