The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday summoned House of Representatives secretary-general Winantuningtyastiti Swasanani for questioning as a witness in a bribery case allegedly involving former NasDem Party secretary-general Patrice Rio Capella.

Winantuningtyastiti said KPK investigators questioned her about Patrice'€™s activities at the House. '€œHe attended commission meetings,'€ she told journalists at the KPK on Tuesday, citing one of the NasDem lawmaker'€™s activities.

She added that the KPK investigators questioned her for around five hours. She refused to answer questions on whether Patrice still received his salary as a lawmaker. She also declined to comment about the lawmaker's bribery case.

The antigraft body on Oct.15 named Patrice as a suspect for reportedly receiving unlawful gifts related to a bribery case allegedly involving non-active North Sumatra governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho and his second wife Evy Susanti. The KPK named the couple suspects in late July for their alleged roles as financial bankers in a bribery case involving Medan State Administrative Court (PTUN) judges. (ebf)
