The House of Representativesâ Pelindo II inquiry committee is rescheduling its meeting with State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, as it still has to find evidence for the case
he House of Representatives' Pelindo II inquiry committee is rescheduling its meeting with State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, as it still has to find evidence for the case.
The committee's deputy chief, Teguh Juwarno, said that Wednesday's cancellation was based on an internal meeting.
'There are so many documents and data that should be clarified,' Teguh said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He denied that there was a political plot behind the cancellation and said the cancellation had nothing to do with the committee's plan to summon other ministers as witnesses for the Pelindo II case.
'Every committee decision must be approved by the House's chairman and members after consultation,' Teguh said.
The Pelindo II inquiry was set up to supervise a graft investigation into top executives of state port operator Pelindo II, which manages the country's biggest port, Tanjung Priok, in North Jakarta.
The Pelindo case turned political after National Police detective division chief Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso was removed shortly after the police raided Pelindo's headquarters in North Jakarta on Aug. 28.
